At our studio, we’ve had the incredible honor of capturing countless memories for sweet baby Kayden and his family over the past few years. From his newborn photos to milestone moments, it’s been a joy to watch him grow. Kayden’s first birthday party had a fantastic surfing theme, and we knew we had to carry that vibe into his cake smash session. One thing we quickly learned during the session is that Kayden is always on the move! Now that he’s walking, he was eager to explore every corner of the set, making it a bit of a workout to capture those perfect shots. But with a little patience, some creative distractions, and a lot of laughter, we were able to photograph his adventurous spirit and those adorable, candid moments that make these sessions so special.

Of course, no cake smash is complete without, well, smashing the cake! Kayden absolutely loved it. His eyes lit up when he saw the colorful, beach-inspired cake, and he didn’t hesitate to dive right in. Frosting-covered fingers, big smiles, and a few messy splashes were all part of the fun. It was a joy to watch him experience his first taste of cake and the sheer delight on his face as he explored the textures and flavors.
